the space lighting doesn't work, and stay away from stereotypical tutorialized space scenes. And if this isn't "ready" then why is it a deviation? Why isn't it a scrap?

Then you don't know how to make a planet, if you're using a tutorial, then it's not really your knowledge of how to make it, it's your knowledge of how to copy someone else with their instructions. Find something that works for you, as in a way that makes your planets unique, and your space scenes. Just because you can follow a tutorial doesn't make you a good artist.

no, but it gives people ideas and ways to learn to create their own. You think people come up with all work without even considering what other people have done? Because I can tell you, anything you make today will never be original because someone out there has already done it.

Watching and repeating doesn't give ideas. watching, then doing away from it does.
I'm not claiming that I've never considered what others have done, and personally, I think that that is not true, there is original stuff, all over the place. Otherwise, why would you keep doing art? Why not just stop, if nothing you will ever do is original.

About the piece, work on your planet texture, and your red swirl is massive, the proportions are off, because there's no way those planets are that big.

Word of warning: don't debate with silenced..

Why is the nebula on top of the left planet.. but behind the right one?
Stars are overcontrasted And they require more variety in brightness and sizes..

The colours contrast too much too.. Making it look like bad..
One more note.. Just remove the text..

I guess that's all from me.. Experiment more and gl on your next piece..

thnx Lumix. Id rather someone come in here and tell me what needs changing than someone just coming in here and telling me that taking a tutorial is bad, seeing as how I do remember we tell our new members to sometimes check out good-tuts when they're having problems. Again, thanks Lumix for constructive critism.
