I want to get a new graphics card for my comp but, i'm not sure which is the best to one to get. I was looking at these two but, not sure which one would be a better buy for me, or if there is a better one i'm open to suggestions. I want to keep the price between $300 & $350

well, first off, that link takes me to an empty shopping cart, but for $300, you can get a really sick card, for example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130247
or

im assuming you have a PCI express slot that works with these cards?

The first one you posted was one of the ones I was looking at. I wasn't sure if I should go with the 7800 256mb or the 6800 512mb.

I say unless you're going for a more "professional" approach to video games (like if you're gonna start a clan and play in leagues or something) you should buy a rather cheap graphics card. I mean, you don't really have a reason to have edge graphics if you wanna play quake 4 for a total of 30 hours or something. But if you're going to play Unreal Tournament for 500 hours in leagues or something, and that's where you get the Fr.P.Sec problem, you would have to buy a better graphics card. Furthermore, for RPG games or games with bigger environments you'd be better off with 512 mb. But i would again go for the 256 since it will be a better buy for any usual F.Per.Sh. or somethin. I'd go for the 6800GT.

well, first off the difference between a 6800GT and 7800GT isnt that much once you get into overclocking, but if you dont, either one is incredible to be honest. ive got a 6600GT that can play BF2 at high settings with a steady 50 frames per second, id love to see those cards tear through any game. But then again, the 7800 GT has an incredible 24 pixel pipelines(6800GT only has 16, 6600GT has 8) and many companies are pretty stable for overclocking. id say go with either one, both great cards.
hope that made sense.

I have the 6800 and I am quite happy with it.

It's not even necessary to overclock it, unless you want to get an incredibly high FPS.

yea the 6800 will do u fine. i have some64mb radeon card atm.
but wen i do get my card im gonna get a radeon 1800XT .. (512) heron i asvise you to do the same aswell, as these are built for the next gen games..

Yea, ATi's are better than NVidia's in my honest opinion. If you really want a card that will perform to it's fullest, go with ATi.
