Awesome man! Me and you started at roughly the same time. You've gotten awesome. I have two threads of my first two tries at C4D. You should go check those out.

The colouring and texture isn't good at all, I'm afraid, but the render is good . It needs some nice lighting with lots of shadows, and darks bits should remain dark. Also, it'd be nice to see some detail, as they say, the devil is in the detail.

The pattern is similar to the pattern on a real spotted orchid and they also come in many colors besides purple. Plus I wasn't trying to make it realistic just based on an orchid.

I render them at 1280x1024...is that not a good size for it?

    Any other comments....

use more shadows and lighting. it gets more depth by that.
