size for layouts

hey guys I was thinking of trying to make my own site to put my stuff/portfolio in to and was wondering whatis the basice for a layout?

hmmm height isn't a big deal but normaly not wider than 800, and not taller than say 600 if you dont want a scroll bar.

of course course 800 is the screen width so you have to remove the scroll bar width and the other crap so say around 760 shoudl be the max width.

Code the page so the Height is 100%, and the width I like at around 750.
