Thats a pretty rough definition, I found some more to help anyone seeking a path.
Odinism: Odinism \O"din*ism\, n. Worship of Odin; broadly, the Teutonic heathenism
Heathen:
a)
1. One who adheres to the religion of a people or nation that does not acknowledge the God of Judaism, Christianity or Islam
2. Such persons considered as a group; the unconverted.
B)
1. One who is regarded as irreligious, uncivilized, or unenlightened.
2. Such persons considered as a group.
Wicca
1. A polytheistic Neo-Pagan nature religion inspired by various pre-Christian western European beliefs, whose central deity is a mother goddess and which includes the use of herbal magic and benign witchcraft.
2. A group or community of believers or followers of this religion.
Ok so this is how it goes. I am a Odinist (also known as Asatru) basically I worship the old Norse and Germanic gods and goddesses. Just like the Vikings..... kinda. But without the animal sacrifice and horned helms (they never actually wore horned helmets).
There are many other forms of Paganism though, as an example up there I put Wicca. Wiccans are like a new age wave of pagans, they worship the goddess and do other witchy things. Some religions (like Odinism) are very folkish, we want to remain worshipping the gods of our forefathers etc.
If your at all interested in Odinism/Asatru please visit the Odinist.com forum.
For all other practices there are the following useful sites: www.paganfed.org www.religioustolerance.org/var_rel.htm
