Text package download help

When you download a text package and need to extract it somewhere, where do you extract it to?

go to my computer, hard disk (what ever u labeled it) mines C:\ go to windows (click show all files on the left) an then find the fonts folder, an there you will extract all your font files. I just hope text an font packages are the same thing lol...
