Another stupid idea.

Meh...
Was just doing a 'feasibility study' on making 3D rotating gears from scratch.
-
very feasable, good work on the gears, don't like the way the 2 bgs look like there stuck together, clash a lot
-
yeh the bgs dont fit but i think it would work. also the animation is really jearky. needs work but could work lol.
-
Yeah, I totally agree. but now I've figured out the technique you can expect to see something a bit more suitable soon.
Edit: Well here's the finished sig:

Let me know how you feel about it.
-
i think its really cool. the only thing is the animation on the cog with the arrow looks jerky but thats about it.
-
Yeah, I'd have to double the number of frames to get rid of that. It's because the arrow is the only thing that's actually rotating. Everything else is just an optical illusion. It's interesting since, because of its shape the arrow looks like it isn't going in a circle, but in fact it's the only thing that is, (actually an elipse, due to the perspective).
If you unfocus your eyes you can made the arrow appear to go in the opposite direction to the cog that it's on. It's a bit trippy.
-
oh yeh... that looks really strange... dont think i'll be doing that too often...
-
I'm testing out making a site template based on the sig, since I got dreamweaver today. I'll let you know how I get on.
-
cool will be good to see :P
-
2nd version is so much better, i like the way its all an illusion.
