Default Effects question. Not sure where to post this.

Got a question for all you guys. I'm working on a project where a football logo is involved, and I'd like to enhance the look of it.

I want to achieve a metallic-medallion sort of look, al'a the NFL's shiny shield graphic. Does anyone know how to achieve this in CS2 or CS3?

Thanks, and please move this topic to its proper location if this is not it.

Not sure if anyone's answered your question, or if you're still looking for an answer, but I think I might be able to help you.

The easiest way to do it would be to
    1) add a gradient map to turn the object into the metallic color of your choice. If needed, desaturated the image first.

    2) Add a gradient overlay over the top of it so it will read like there is a light source coming from somewhere. Lower the opacity of the overlay to somewhere between 10 and 30%. The Lighting Effects filter might be handy here, but don't use it unless it looks like your should.

Those are the quickest ways I can think of. There might be a few filters than can help you from there, But I tend to stay away from filters as much as I can.
