Although I won't knock your design, it's green so I can't hate on it, always remember the reasons for the way things are named. Abstract, especially, can be misconstrued on many levels. Nowadays, people have confused 'abstract' with being nothing at all. A piece that is smashed together could be called abstract, but only if that's what you were aiming for.

Abstract in itself, is a piece of work that is created without the use of traditional means. IE a picture of a macro of boiling water could be abstract because it doesn't resemble an everyday object. Dictionary.com gives several meanings to the word abstract. The one I can relate to the most is #16: "in the abstract, without reference to a specific object or instance; in theory: beauty in the abstract". I like this definition because it gives abstract a feeling. In essence, when you are creating an abstract piece, you are not thinking of one thing to express an emotion or feeling, but many things. What does the side of a pool cue express that the pool cue itself would not?

It comes off as a complex idea, and it's novel at best. But to be quite honest, it's hard to put a finger on what exactly abstract is. User intention usually wins the cigar, but it's always up for argument.

As for the piece, like I said before, it's green and that's totally awesome. I'm just wondering what the motive behind this piece was. What were you trying to express or relate to us through the creation of this work?

All jokes aside, it may seem like I'm throwing a curveball down a seemingly simple path, but art is art, and without interpretation, it is nothing.

it needs more of a focal point. it looks like it's an unfinished start at the moment.
