Thread: using brushes

    Default using brushes

hey, i downloaded a lot of the brushes and resources shared here on these forums, but i am sort of new to designing and such so i have a question when using the brushes.

how do you gain the glowing colorful effects that are seen throughout various sigs and artwork presented here? many of your designs are very colorful and luminated, and glowing. where as after i've downloaded the brushes and i am attempting to make my signature now...using the brushes i only get a very bland single color look unless i am doing something like a color burn or color dodge...which looks alright but not nearly as nice and fluent as some of the other work i've seen. any tips would be appreciated!

If you have a graphic example this may be a bit easier to elaborate on.

ok, well i can take your sig for example...

seems as if you are using brushes in this sig no? and you have quite a nice mesh from theg reen color to the blue.

here is an example of a sig i am working on:

the red background is an abstract brush, i added some brightness and contrast to give it more of an illuminated glowing effect, but it is only one solid color.

and here is an example of a brush that i downloaded

in the preview image, the brush is very colorful and has these glowing effects. but i can't seem to figure out how to replicate this in my own designs.
