Boredom

Hey guys. Some nights I get really bored, I play Counter Strike: Source often, I play on my XBOX 360, bitta World at War or Modern Warfare, but I'm getting bored. I would like to do more photoshopping but because I'm not that good I haven't got the encouragment to do it. Anyone got any ideas on what I could do?

Browse different styles of art, and when you find a style you love, work twards replicating that. Join the AotW, and SotW and compete against other people, that way you can see your improvement. If your not having fun doing it, try a different style.


And never give up.

Well I've taken part in the last 2 SoTW's and failed, the best one is the one in my current; Current Favourite and I don't know just can't find a good feel to using photoshop. Can't find a nice signature size, can't make good backgrounds to fit in with stocks/renders.

Try looking around at artwork other than signatures. You might find a style that you love, that doesn't suit signatures at all.

boredom. I hate the word.
There's always something to do yet boredom is a subtitute word for laziness,
people of say i'm bored .. there's nothing to do... where in true fact they're saying, i'm
too lazy to do anything...

When i'm bored i normally hop on my bike, my skateboard or go down the road to the beach and have a surf.

That normally clears my mind.

Call a friend? see if they want to go for a swim ( if there's a pool available), or a few friends and ride around the streets.
Have something to eat?, it may be that your brain is seeking some nutrients and your body is going into slothmode.
Perhaps you could bake something, you may not be gordon ramsay but it's always a new experience.

Search around the internet for some PS tutorials.
There's always something new to learn. Almost every tutorial will have atleast one thing you have never tried before, useful or not.

Challenge someone to a battle or challenge your own skills but setting yourself an artwork.

I dunno... the skies the limit. we all have an imagination, it's whether or not we use it to be creative.
