start your photoshop

create a document i used 400x120 px

make sure the document is white

go to filter > renders > fibers

variance = 40.0

strength = 4.0

randomize if you want

now it looks VERY UGLY?!

YEAH! VERY UGLY!!

BUT WHAT TO DO WITH IT?

now go to filter > pixelate > mosaic

cell size : 20 square

now.. go to filter > sharpen > sharpen

press ctrl+f twice to sharpen it two times

now it looks very neat and ugly right?

go to filter > distort > ocean ripple

aww yeah ocean ocean so cool

don't use default settings use

ripple size : 15

ripple magnitude : 20

there click ok!

then go to filter > sketch > water paper

aww yeah water paper so nice

fiber length : 15

brightness : 60

contrast : 60

right it looks like a piece of cloth

a ugly cloth lol

now go to filter > stylize > glowing edges

edge width : 7

edge brightness : 7

smoothness : 3

it looks chunky like shit right? yep

now go to image > adjustments > brightness/contrast

set brightness to -100

ITS MINUS 100!!!

(-100) not (100)

colour it

ctrl + b to bring up the colour balance

i choose blue

note : if you don't colour it the result will turn SHITTY

ok ctrl + j to create a new background layer

name the new layer "Hippy"

if you dunno how to rename a layer

you see after you created a new layer

you can see a box called "Layer 1" in the layer box

double click on the word "Layer 1"

then you type "Hippy"

now

what to do?

select the Hippy layer and go to filter > distort > wave...

Note: did you activate the wrap around?

after you go into filters > distort > wave...

click on wrap around in the undefined areas at the bottom right hand corner

or else you get a ugly result

click randomize to get the lovely curls you wanna

then select the background layer in the layer box

you can do this by click the layer named "Background"

the part of it will turn blue YEAH YOU ARE GOOD!

c'mon! go to filter > distort > polar coordinates

select "rectangular to polar"

ok muahhahaha good

click ok

then select the Hippy layer and set its blending mode to lighten

the blending mode is on top

then ok wah

too empty? yeah! ctrl + e to merge the layers!!!

then ctrl + j to create new layer

name the layer "Hippy"

YEAH HIPPY HIPPY HIPPOOOOO

select the layer Hippy and use filter > distort > wave...

click on randomize for a few times!!! dont' change anything

now make sure that the Hippy layer is selected

set its blending mode to lighten

aww yeah

ok if it look good to you stop now

or you wanna continue?

ctrl + e to merge the layers

ctrl + j to create new layer

you know the drill name the new layer "Hippy"

after selecting the Hippy layer

go to filters > distort > wave...

now set its blending mode to lighten

wow yeah

ok ok ok

ctrl + e to merge the layers

if you dislike the colours

go to image > mode > grayscale

if it ask you "discard colour information?"

click ok

now go to image > mode > RGB colour

now you can bring up the colour balance by pressing ctrl + b

woo colour it!

you could set the last step's blending mode to "Screen" instead of "Lighten"

cool tut im gona go try it, probably look a bit better if you alter a few things, ( muck around with some stuff) by the way can you tell me how to make borders? hmm i like the background but it will look better with a high advanced border

well looks good on your sig but you no border on your tut. Damnit i so wanna know how to make borders and use those paint stuff( brushes)
