Wink First Vector / Alien render (WIP)

    This is a WIP still.

This is my first attempt at vectoring anything, I didn't follow any vector tut, and also didn't look at any other alien pic to immitate. I started off with pentool shapes, then used pentool lines, paintbucket tool, burn and dodge tool, soft brush, and one b&w gradient map. i dunno if i did this how most pple vector, this is kinda a wip still, i want to work more on shading, and lighting, and texture, but for my first ever i wanted to get some feedback on it from some vector pros and stuff, on shading, and lighting. What should I do to the face and hands? should i use same technique used on feet, and knees, and thighs, or is there way to get more realistic looking facial features? thx for all cnc.

Lol. Looks as though it is constipated xD

For a first it is not a bad attempt. Alot better than how did when I started xD Keep trying. You're going on the right path.

Haha I like it a lot, the detail in the legs is good.

People from Yorkshire are very proud of their underachievement. You see these old fellas in the pub going: 'I've had a great life, me. Gone nowhere. Done f*** all. Aye.'

Not bad. but here's the overall deal. Vectoring involves the creation of shapes combined together to make shades and highlights on an image you can scale up and scale down without losing any quality.
That said i think this is pretty good, however i think some parts are odly vectored. The cross shading on the legs. While its good, it also looks a bit weird for a vector. Just do a darker shade rather than crosshatch.

Secondly the eyes and neck. Those do not look vectored. Well i guess the eyes could be but the neck looks like a texture, am i right? Next time just pen tool it out. It would actually be a better vector that way if you did.

The alien is cool but the amount of detail you put into it kind o varies a lot from place to place.
