Captain Jack Sparrow
Any comments about what good or bad about it would be great.
-
I really like it, don't see any obvious downsides either.

i like this.
but i dont think the colors really match the render.
other than that is sick.

Thanks for the comments, done a new version with a few slightly different gradient maps.

Sorry to not go along with the comments of praise. But I can tell you a few pointers to help you in your next sig.
Some better text would help, I've been doing this for a very long time, and text is my weakness. But you'll get better. Don't lower the Opacity on the text. Make it stand out a little.
The smudging on the left side is a bit obvious, tone that down just a little. This (unlike your others) lacks flow. There are effects going in every direction.
Colors are nice, except that Captain Jack doesn't have any color of the bg on him. It sort of looks like you made your background and just pasted the render and erased the edges a little. Have your render as the main part of building your signature, it needs to stand out, but also share the color scheme. But I really like the colors you chose here, so good job on that.
The effects overall are nice, and this shows potential. just keep at it.

the updated version is much better with those gradient maps.

The updated version does look better.
I like the smudge and c4d usage, but the text is the is like a nail poking out after careful hammering.
