Default Crown of Thorns, Crown of the Curse

Here is my rendition of Christ wearing the crown of thorns. This is the pencil version that has been touched up in Coral-Paint. This is a cropped version - I like it better than the full size. Also, I painted it using Corel Paint. And I did a background in watercolor and then worked on it more with Corel. I seem to favor the B&W version over the painted version, though I do like the textures of the scarlet purple robe that is in the painted and full sized version. Also, I present my inspiration for the piece and a fascinating study of Roman crowns and symbolisms thereof, if you are interested in such things:

Feedback of any kind is welcomed.

the crown is very realistic as well as the hair, very nice with that, u could do something with the background, and the blood on his face is just different shades on jesus' face (make it pop out and look more realistic), and i would work on the wrinkles of the face alittle more, and lastly fix that white smidge on the nose

this drawing is nearly epic, very nice job on this, this is a future inspirational drawing, just fix your errors

In all deepest reality, we may only imagine the days past us, knowing that anything and all happens; and time will never be written until the happening... The future is 'eXcellence'.

    Default Crown of Thorns

Thanks for the great feedback. Indeed, he needs some lines. I notice that Jews usually have a certain wrinkle or line around their mouth. This is readily seen in the older men. But you can even see it in the young men, like Matisyahu (the Jewish Rapper that sang King without a Crown). So, I added that.

The blood shows up OK in the painting. And I think the highlight on his nose looks OK in the painting as well... what do you think? I did take the highlight away in the pencil drawing that I show at my blogspot. Again, thanks for the great feedbacK!!!
