Thread: Spherize

    Default Spherize

First thing made in a long time. Wanted to create a LP with a 'spherical' theme, so everything in there is round.

    v3

P.S. Sorry about the large image sizes, the resizer doesn't work.

I like the work, but there may be a bit of size proportion issues. The hot air balloons seem to be acceptable given the distance away from the city the camera is, and it looks like they are above the city. But then just to the left is the telescope and it seems to be right across from the city, but it's massive. I don't know if the depth given is because the city isn't all that big, but to me it's kind of confusing.

I also noticed that the lighting on the air balloons doesn't really fit the rest of the scene. The atmosphere reflects a dusk / dawn type of lighting, but the balloons are a solid black with nothing to show reflections of a darker setting. The light source appears to be a setting sun just below the mountains behind the city, yet the yellow on the ballons look as if they are being shone upon by some other light source. Maybe you could dodge / burn that to give it a more consistent appearance.

Everything else looks nice. My only quarrel is that people seem to be doing alot of these lately. Combining planets with landscapes looks to be a trend coming on. It's been around for awhile, but you did a good job with it. Although I think you could have focused a bit more on some of the elements (mainly the hot air balloons).

I do like this a lot, but like Sol said the porportions are off, and the balloon thing. Also, it might just be my screen, but the foreground of the dirt looks really fuzzey. Which makes it look a little LQ. I do love how the sky looks though on all of them, I like number 2 the most.

very nice work man. couple things to work on=

    1. the proportions arnt exact, but i think you can fix that easily.

    2. the upper atmosphere (moon and stars) if very nice and high quality... but the lower area (town, satellite, ext..) looks alittle low quality, which create a unevenness in the piece- this is an easy fix= sharpen the entire piece, the erase the upper atmosphere, this will will with the quality and unevenness.

3.the colors arnt exact (meaning they dont match up the best they could)=mainly the moon vs the ground. to fix this i would add some gradient maps and adjustment layers, try to make it seem more as one.

overall... GREAT concept, im loving every part of this, with a few changes here and there, it would be even more incredible..

I can understand what's been said above about the proportions. Some elements do seem a bit large, or small.
It's what makes Photomanips so hard sometimes.

I wouldn't mind seeing some more detailed stuff around the place. You could add some small effects or items of some kind to the very front near the bottom, as well as complement the planets with some space junk or something.

    Still, Very Nice indeed.
