Graphic Layout

Wow i think i may have posted this in the wrong forum, Mods please direct it to the right place.

I am a php programmer from Johns other sites, i have a blog i like the layout (Well actually i modified the layout) and i am wanting some unique graphics for the site. A lot of it would be color changes. The problem is i have absolutely no graphic talent (or is creativeness?) anyways i am looking for some one to help me out on a new layout that kinda fits my style. (I have my link in sig blog)

The largest thing is a future ad space that is 320px in height and 935px wide it is my super ad space. The site just does not really flow well in my opinion it looks good with a clean layout but i want something more unique.

I do not have much money, well i actually do not have any money but i will give the credit to however the credit is needed to be given to. The ideas i am sure will come from seeing and reading the site just to get a feel for my sloppy blogging.

My knowledge is in html, css, and php graphics i lack.
Even a simple header re-design would great.

I'll be blunt with you. You're probably going to have a hard time finding a decent designer willing to help you on your project without any monetary compensation. I mean, there may be a few people willing to help you for free because they need the work, but you're better off striking a deal.

I would help you but its been years since I've done work in exchange for ad space. Sorry I couldn't help you more.

Yeah i figured as much, I guess its just about time to practice my PS skills, I have them just don't have the creativity to do what i want. I just don't have a clue where to start.

Right now i have Photoshop open looking at a blank 936X90 white potential header. But reading several tutorials from here and there i think i am going to try and get something by combining aspects of about 8 of them. But i still need the creative part of the start.

I will be working on it and figuring out what i am trying to achieve its pretty much the same thing in php but in that case i know how to achieve the desired effect. Who knows maybe my creative talent is just put aside for now and when i start getting into the tutorials it will explode with greatness. 1 could only hope i guess.

@chris, I'm glad you took that mindset. If you're interested in developing on your own, I can definitely offer assistance. Maybe you can help me in some ways too, I'm trying to broaden my scope of backend development, specifically PHP and mySQL. Maybe we can feed off each other.

When I can't find something I like I just take a trip outside, but I rarely fail to find a piece that gives me that extra push in the right direction. If you've never heard of it, smashingmagazine.com also offers an enumerate amount of resources to help you on your way. I look forward to seeing you combine what you already know and giving it a coat of design spice.

I'm glad you decided to come to the void though, so welcome (in case noone told you). I guess you could say we are trying to attain opposite goals. I have some development experience (mainly with flash, although I've gotten quite handy with wordpress as a CMS), but for the most part I'm an XHTML/CSS zealot. I'm enthusiastic about web design, and I hope I'm able to offer you some direction. Maybe you can help me in my endeavors as well?

Yeah i am good at PHP i make things happen, I am in to Object Oriented PHP but i am able to work with it all. Just send me your questions and i will sually come up with a simple solution for you, or something i leave open for improvement. I usually put together small scripts that i can fine tune when in use i have more snips then i use already.

I have actually decided to do a lot more then just the header i will also be making a bunch of sprites for my nave and buttons.

I do not know if you visited my site or not but if you noticed there is some ads for Johns sites well 3 of them anyways this one, HHC, and GB I have been at his other forums since before he owned it.

FYI i do all of these on CS4 Master suite i have also dabbled into the AS land (Umm i don't know if that was the right combo of words "AS land") but again with the graphics i usually stick to small stuff that i know..

Future ReferenceI like to leave ( Thoughts ) if the make read ability low then let me know i will try to refrain from them.
