Default I am here for your visual delights

    hey everyone

Is it bad if I admit that I come to GFXVoid from some warez blogs? specifically [REMOVED]. Hell, my whole recent introduction to the truncated "GFX" term is technically from warez/font/0day/ebay digging the last two months.

The trade/craft that I have the most experience in is Photography.
Some of my work (but definitely not all) is located here:
    http://www.flickr.com/flatsol/collections

As you may see through lots of browsing, I am really big on street and event/nightlife photography, which comes from me living in San Francisco and being a music head. In particular, the strongest themes of my work are:
    1) The 4 Elements of Hip Hop
1b) (and also Post Hip Hop, where the more tribal fundamentals go digital)
    2) The building blocks of letters, words, numbers, symbols, shapes, and lines.

In terms of visual design, I have an intermediate sense of color/line/shape/type/proportion and overall 2D theory, and am really keen on geometry, patterns, grids, and perspective, but I am nowhere near where I want to be with composites, "digital art," collages, etc. This to me is the more organic, unstructured way of working that I really need to practice.

What made me want to join this forum and comment on people's work is because there seems to be:
    1) a genuine wish by headz of wanting to get better, and soliciting criticism.
    2) the DOPE graphic work I'm seeing over in the Showcase area, for example by SSSSK, Sanbu, iScribble. This is the kind of next level that I want to take my photography, using it just as one layer in a final image.

    I also wanted to
    3) give due rspkt to certain photos that caught my eye while browsing. SilentShadow, Phzed.

Hopefully I can learn a bunch of new things here and up my game.

So yeah, gotta wait for the newbie period to get upgraded before I can give my comments and suggestions!

    Peace all.
