Photo of an installation I produced from a course I attended at Central St Martins - Grabbing inspiration from the Egyptian exhibiton for mumification and an african drum for binding [both located in the British Museum] and ideas from the work of Christo & Jeanne-Claude, I created a wrapped up scene of a desk, diary, lamp and pen. It shows the "babied nation" that we live in, and how people hide away from the world, concealing their thoughts in a place private to them; whether it be a diary, a single person, or simply their minds. The piece is centered around the aesthetics of cloth and folds, and how they can disguise what they conceal. You can see a number of studies on the wall to the right.
