Stuck with tut im following

Hey guys/gurls im following a tut and as far as i can see its going real nyc well for my 2nd second anyway

im now stuck im on a part where he/she says the following

Get the 1px brush tool and have the colour set to white. Make the line come out from bottom of render

Well i can get the brush tool and colour but when i look at his tut his lines are curved but there real smooth to smooth for using basic hands, when i do it i get jags and everything in my lines

Is there another tool i can use a 1px white brush and get nyc curved smoothed line?
