would be cool if you added a glass split to it
and thats not really a rip or a tear...
its kinda more like a.... a oops-i-just-crashed-my-head-into-a-glass-door kind of look

i actually used two layers:

1) custom shape with Drop and Inner shadow
2) text -> rasterize -> erase outside the shape

done.
