    Default Text + Gradients

    Yo,
I have seen people add Gradient's into particular section's of text,
    How would one do that?

rasterize the text layer by doing right click>rasterize

create a new layer over the text layer, fill it with the gradient and apply a clipping mask (ctrl + alt +g)

there are other ways, but this is easiest . hope that helped.

I always thought the easiest way to add a gradient to a text was to open up the blending options on the text layer and add a gradient overlay >.>

Or you can hold ctrl, click on the text layer thumbnail, to select the text, then apply your gradient on a new layer. This, and the clipping mask gives you more control over the way your gradient is placed.
