Well, your text placement on your second version looks much better, but the font you used looks horrid.

try to create a flow with what you make, and make sure the text blends in but isnt hidden. right now the sig is eh but keep working.

im not going to say im the master at it, shucks im not even that good at it but ill say what i can.
first and foremost rule of thirds is your friend. if you dont know what that is just google it. its important for any photograph. you dont want the text to be the main focus of you siggy, unless thats what your trying to do, so make sure the font isnt to large or extravagant to the point that no one notices your render. for your sig it seems liek you put your text in last second and rotated it and earesed the end of it with a soft brush. when putting in the text dont just go willy nilly its a large part of the sig and can make or break it. look around at other sig makers, i dont know many people here but i do know many are very good at texts, see where they place there texts and how the texts relate to the signature. a more abstract signature may call for fancy text while a more techy sig would call for blockish text. dont decide with the first font you pick test out other fonts, sizes, and even colors.
not sure how much i helped, probably just useless information to hear myself talk or type in this case. anyways i gave you what i know hope it helps, im learning with you don't worry.
tl;dr: just read it
