    Default clipping masks?

ok for some reason clipping masks r being very weird for me. how u actually do them isnt working for me with splatters and stuff. well here it is. ok so after i have done the splatters and i hide that layer, i apply the image to the next layer. but when i go to unhide my scatter brush layer, they dont show up and when i click on create clipping mask, it doesnt do anything. i have no idea y it does this. but when i do not hide the scatter brush layer and i do the apply image to the new layer and create the clipping mask, i guess it works because i mean it sorta blends in? i mean im working on a sig right now and when its done ill show u the clipping mask weird stuff. its being very odd and idk y it is doing that. any ideas wut i m doing wrong? those r the exact steps i did. i do not go to anywhere else nor do i click on anything else.

EDIT: well photoshop froze as i was doing it and i was unable to show anyone the clipping mask screw up thing with splatters. idk y it does that. does anyone know?

Probably because you did 'apply image' to one of the top layers?

Just try hiding layers 1 by 1. You'll figure out what's wrong eventually. Besides, it's difficult to do online troubleshooting like this unless you post some images/psd.

when you apply image, you right click on THAT layer, =not the splatter layer - and click enable clp mask. and then u move the same layer around.
