What's up with the smudging on the right mate?

Looks like you didn't really increase the scattering or even touched the shape dynamics.
It's also very poor blending when only one side is blended by an easy smudge.

I like the effects on the right though.
The duplicate on the right looks low quality for some reason as well.

The smudging looks weird and it makes the render strange looking. The effects/c4ds you have right now kill the flow that your trying to create by smudge. Also, the colors are washed out. Not your best mate.

The smudging starts to make the focal disapear, and the render on the right looks lq. Usually when i "cant" do anyhting in PS i end up making my best stuff, so dont get worried about that
