Shit
I just installed Windows 7 onto my computer and while starting it back up again I get this error,
'PC video resolution setting is out of range'
I googled it for more information and understood that I need to go into safe mode and change my resolution to the recommended resolution for my monitor.
Unfortunately, when I try to get into safe mode. I can't.
I restarted my computer, pressed F8 down and got onto the mode selection screen.
It was all good until it said 'Use keys to change option'.
When I get to that screen, it's automatically on the 'Start Windows normally' option, my keyboard for some reason isn't even on at that time, so I'm guessing me pressing F8 like 80 times was done for no reason.
I can't move my arrows keys, therefore I can't get into safe mode.
It stays at the options for about 20 seconds, the time given to change/pick the mode you want to go into and then it starts Windows.
Right after the 'Starting Windows' screen is gone, thats when the error comes.
Please, any idea's on how to fix this? I officially fucked up my computer if I can't fix it.
It seems so easy, yet so gay.

Go back to your local computer shop and get answers from qualified and legitimate people who know how to solve it.
You tried (probably the only TWO available) methods to get into safe mode, and both of them didn't work. I don't know why the arrow keys are not working, it's almost like you locked your keyboard or something..
I apologize for speaking the obvious above, but that is your last and safest resort.
Good luck.

Select safe mode by using the arrow keys.
I've been trying to do that, my arrow keys don't work at that time, my keyboard doesn't even turn on. It turns on when Windows is starting, therefore basically when the error pops up.

You just answered your own problem, try fixing your keyboard.. Do you have any portable keyboards (one with a signal input device you put in the USB slots and the keyboard is powered by batteries?) if so, get that.. Is your keyboard locked? If your keyboard's light is on, then it's working but you locked it.
Did you read the minimum requirements?
It seems like you jumped into something without precautions.

It's a USB keyboard and by installing Windows 7, I should've read a bit more, from XP to 7 was a big jump.
Anyways, I might try to get a different keyboard, but that doesn't seem to me like the real solution. The keyboard should work regardless.
I will try that though.
Also, can you explain a bit more by 'locked'. I'm a bit confused.
How would you unlock it?
The keyboard works after the 'Starting Windows' screen.

Put in your OEM xp disc and boot from disc and put xp back on it

Thanks Fork, but that would be my last option.
I found the actual solution.
I'm going to need a PS2 keyboard, the older type of keyboard, USB keyboards don't recognize key strokes until windows starts, so I might just get a shit $5 off eBay or try to find my old one.

That's a crazy ass keyboard you have there! USB keyboards should work even when your not running an operating system...how else do you navigate through your bios?

if its a wireless keyboard it won't work for some reason sometimes. If its USB or the regular pc keyboards it should work 99.99% of the time.

USB's don't work before starting windows, the old PS2 type keyboards work right away. Therefore, I can go into safe mode if I have the PS2 keyboard which I am getting from my friend who's coming over today.
Hopefully it works!
