    well the shadow is pretty well done, but there's not a whole lot to it other than some filters and lens flares. you've got multiple lens flares coming in from different angles that create an unrealistic glare that messes with the perspective. also, try doing some brushing especially for the stars.

    I agree, the majority of the image seems to be more filters. The wind idea is a good idea though, but you should brush your own stars and stuff. Just my opinionn though.

    But hey, you've put the default/preset filters to good use, right? =P

    Well, it doesn't look like a planet. When you create a planet you first of all need to look at a planet to get the hang of how they look. When you've done that, try going through some tutorials. I have one in the Members only section, and there is a famous one at http://www.artofgregmartin.com. And I disagree with brushed stars. There is also a starfield tutorial at Greg Martin's site, go check it out. And when you have made some decent planets, you should check out Alyns planet tutorial, it's very advanced, so you shouldn't try it now. Wait untill you have gotten better.

    indeed u need to get on deviant art an find some planet tutorials its hard to learn bet its good fun take a look at my down the road wallpaper :unsure: :lol:
