    Default John Brown Photomanipulation

I'm a huge Jayhawks fan and I made this after the basketball game this evening. I got the idea from some KU students who did a similar thing a few years ago but I wanted a new desktop background. Please critique, thanks!

For reference, here is the original mural:

And here is the image of the Jayhawk I used:

well, the birds face doesn't look painted... :L

    Cool concept though, kiu.

I agree with Eb. Some blending on the bird face is a must for it to look better.

Face looks too glossy other than that it's a good idea.

indeed i think that was his point tho to make him stand out more of the painting .
almost as if he was coming to real life on the other side of it . or maybe im giving him too much credit, lol but that's what it looks like to me kiu m8

    Thanks for the replies, everyone.

I didn't really put too much effort into getting the texture on the face to match up, mostly because I couldn't figure out a way that worked well. I think I did a decent job blending the beards together but the texture for the head was beyond me, really.

How would I go about doing that? I was thinking maybe copying a section of the painting and messing with blending modes and such but I'm not entirely sure.
