Thread: The Tech Angel

  1. #1

    Default The Tech Angel

I'm not at all into Anime, but they are such fun renders to work with, that I had the urge to make another one after my previous "Anime Fall" design.

This one was a bit tricky due to the colors of the render, but I managed to even everything out pretty well with loads of adjustment layers and the clever use of the burn / dodge tools. I know it's not perfect, but I like it.

<--- Moved the C4D on the left behind the render so it doesn't hide her coattails.

<--- Decreased the sharpness and moved the left C4D so it's not as distracting.

    CnC, please.

Yeah it is oversharpened, also im not too sure about the positioning of your focal shes kinda out of the way. the c4d on the left is very distracting and the colour could be better.
    Other than that Good job

Oh. I didn't really notice that it was too sharpened. :/ Good thing I do my sharpening on new layers, so I can easily remove or dull it down.

As for her positioning, I had to put her there; the render is cut off on the right side, so that's where she had to go. I did the best that I could to get it to flow well with her being in that spot.

On the topic of the C4D on the left, I'll try scaling it down, or even removing it and see what happens. I'll post an updated version once I do.

    EDIT: New version posted.

My apologies that it has to be you that gets the brunt of this, but it has to be said, because this is becoming a little ridiculous.

Do you people not know the meaning of constructive criticism? Honestly, is the concept that hard to understand? There is a difference between criticism, and constructive criticism. Let me explain that difference to all of you. On one side of it, you have constructive criticism, which is a sort of... give and take system; you give a compliment, or a sort of support, and then in a sense you take it away by pointing out a flaw, or a negative. THAT is constructive criticism. Now, on the other side of it you have plain criticism, which would be only pointing out flaws, with no sense of support involved. That is not a good way to reach somebody, as all it's really going to do is piss the person off and hurt their feelings.

CONSTRUCTIVE criticism doesn't hurt people's feelings, but PLAIN criticism does.

Now, why am I saying this? Why am I flipping out on Cold Degree? Well, because he posted that my lighting needs work, as does the flow. However, he didn't say that he likes the design, he didn't say that I did a good job, or that I should keep it up, or anything positive of the sort; all that he did was criticize in a negative way. If my lighting needs work, then TELL ME HOW TO WORK ON IT! If the flow is off, then TELL ME HOW TO IMPROVE IT! I'm not asking for you to hold my fucking hand and babysit me as I improve the design; I'm simply asking for some CONSTRUCTIVE... criticism.

    Holy shit.
