See, too much is going on in the bg, the colours are great together and can be done well with the right amount of shape in the bg.

I would auggest going back taking off the ripple or wave a little and than trying your hand at liquid, i find liquid helps a piece go a long when when playing with something liek this.

Also you might wanan try putting some of these "ripple/wave/liquid" on lighten/colour dodge etc and see what comes out sometimes you will be very surprised to see what kidna pattern you get from it.

Thanks, and I noticed that. I was thinking of just making it a plain bg but then I was like meh. I'll have to look up some tutorials on liquify, not that good at it atm, :3. And ohh I didn't try blending effects with them yet! Thanks ^^.

Where the hells the lollipop o.O did you blur it? lol but yeah the bg is messy as for liquify, if you just mess around with it you can do some pretty cool stuff with it.

I thing the biggest problem i have with this is the brown in the background. It's just not that appealing to me. Maybe if you concentrate on the black/green for the background it'll come out a lot better. I do like the style you're going for though. I'm liking the stock and the effects regardless of how I feel about the background. Keep it up buddy.
