I'm happy some of you are starting to do space art.
This one is pretty good for a first attempt!
I see you used the cloud filter for the nebula thingies, which I don't think is such a good idea. It gives everything a very dreamy feeling, like if you where on drugs or something. xP You should go with cloud manipulation and make your own cloud brushes! Also, try to get more shape for nebulas. Even if they are big (as they quite often are), they still are more shaped.
The colors are the thing that makes this one interesting. You have used some colors for the nebulas that work very nice with eachother.
The positioning of the planet could be better. I would place it so that you can see the whole planet and scale it down. I would also put some shading to it to make it look more realistic.
The stars look pretty soft and weak, they should be sharper and have more variation (more small stars than big stars). The galaxy is nicely done, good job on that! And I'd say remove the comet, it doesn't really fit the picture. And that small white line should of course be removed, hehe.

Greg: Nah, I don't think it's too colorful at all. I guess you think it looks too colorful because of the blur. The colors would look really good with some stronger shapes.

Too blurry. Try making the shapes and stars more defined. It's not very realistic at all, but kinda nice nonetheless.

This looks like it was painted. I really like the effect. Good work mate.
