Old dude from past 'Japanese' battle

I wasn't going to post this because really I'm not very proud of it, but figure I haven't posted anything in forever and hell, why not? I don't know what I was thinking in regards to a lighting here, light source just doesn't exist, seems like I really wasn't thinking lol. Whatever, this is the further along version of the old dude that ya'll saw in a battle a while back for MM, I don't feel like working on it any longer. Something I am proud of here is the flesh/face, found an effective way to add tones to skin somewhat easily and I've done it on a few paintings now so I did get something out painting this.

I'm working on a few other pieces all of which are close to done, for some reason I start on something and then when I begin putting on the finishing touches I get side tracked or lose interest and I move on, so hopefully I'll have some actual 'finished' paintings to post soon.



Well, sorry bout the somewhat weak return, promise better in the future. Also, sorry bout the title lol, really couldn't think of anything.

Well it's obviously not the best we've seen from you, but I still like it My only real complaints would be the lack of detail in the hat and his left hand. I also really like this idea :P tbh I think you should scrap this and make a different version from the same idea - but i can see how you may get tired of doing the same thing so never mind Keep it up, hope to see more soon

Lol, yeah the hat and the hand are terrible, I just got frustrated working on it because only a bit of the ways in I was already forcing myself to work and wasn't enjoying it at all.
