borders

hey im really new to ps and i was just wondering how you can make borders.. I just want to know how to make the simple ones. This may sound really dumb but I cant figure it out.

you select all and then go to Edt>Stroke

For a simple black one just choose the color black and make it a 1pixel size.

Make sure that the border is always the top layer so it will show up because you dont want it under another layer, then it wouldn't be visible.

select all (CTRL + A)
modify -> selected(or something)
border 5 px (depends on size
fill Alt + Backspace
and voila you have a border!
