I like the minimalism of it. but theres no real focus point. apart from the green triangle because its in the middle..

I see your point, the composition is intended to be chaotic but with carefully planned links. The beam acts as a point of balance against the projected light, its better illustrated in some of the other works, this was the latest I did in which I used a slide projector rather than a digital one.
There isn't supposed to be a specific focal point, more of an "overallness", where the eye is forced on a journey following lines pointing to other elements of the construction

I think its a nice concept, but the execution might not have been as well as planned.
Please do not take this the wrong way, but I think a lot of people would slate it as a few triangles in a room.
Maybe you could of enhanced it by using gloss paint, to pick up more of the light from the projector. Also, a projector is a bad light source because it gives a yellow orange glow rather than a bright white.

Don't worry, I know what you mean It looks like yellow-orange in the documentation there because of it being a digital camera, and adjusting the temperature of the photo to suit the projected light would then cast off the light on the walls. The slide is pure white.
I thought about gloss paint, I never tried it out but perhaps its a route to take. The concept of using household paint spawned out of a jaded thought of domesticity, the colours found on walls, furniture disassembled, lights taken out of context.
It's interesting getting feedback like this - I've only really had feedback from other art students (I study Fine Art), so thanks
