Hello, it's been a long time. You Monster.
I'm starting anew as an artist. I've felt so frustrated with myself recently and how I feel more and more compelled to try and push forward, so I decided to join an art forum. My friend, who recommended me here (from another forum) suggested that my current level was at about solid novice. This, I agree with. Anyway, I don't want to post any of my work yet - just want to get familiarized with how things work before I do something stupid.
A little bit about me, I'm female and have been doing GFX for almost 2 years now. I use photoshop CS5 and just recently Illustrator and SAI. I don't actually play portal, I'm a video game appreciator but most games make me nauseous (like portal). Right now I'm working on recording this song. I think it will be a great challenge - and on that note, I'm a singer (formally band nerd).
Nice to meet you all.

Welcome to the Void. I liked your intro title, and I know what you mean about games making you nauseous, I have completed Portal 1, twice, and Portal 2, and had to do it in short bursts or I get nauseous. If you need any tips with Illustrator, don't be afraid to send a PM to me, I do all my work in there.
Who was your friend who recommended you to join here?

Good question. On the forums I go to, his username is Varekai, but I'm not sure if it is the same for here. Anyway, thanks for the tips. Recently with school I've had difficulties really getting into thoroughly learning Illustrator, but I shall be working on it in the days to come. And with games like Portal, I can't even play for 15 minutes without getting insanely nauseous /sad.

The more advanced, smooth and detailed games become, the more people with motion sickness will get sick from them. I have noticed that games that have a motion bobbing option, if turned off it isn't as bad.
Don't take too long in posting up some of what you do, that way you can get some good critique.

I don't see any rush though, but thanks for the heads up.
