    Default Clipping mask

I have an image and a new layer with paint on it and I want to create a clipping mask on the paint layer but it doesn't work.

Are you sure the image layer is directly above the paint splatter?
And that theres nothing else on the splatter layer like a white background or anything?

I was trying to help him in the sb earlier, he took this screen shot http://screensnapr.com/v/SOV95H.png he has cs5, is making a sig, and needs help. and basically needs someone to walk him through a clipping mask or needs help figuring out why his clipping mask is not working.

Think it will be better to just link him to a tut?

Edit: @the OP, whats going wrong is your making the paint layer the clipping mask - Try removing the mask on the layer you currently have it on (Layer 2) and drag that just below Layer 3, then make Layer 3 the clipping mask.

Clipping masks basically put whatever it is inside something else so getting the order of the layers right is what makes it work.
Looking great though xD If your a bit new to Photoshop the only thing I can say is GO WILD! Experimenting is really what makes you find out things.

Judging by this (http://screensnapr.com/v/SOV95H.png) screen shot you only need to swap place of the stock and brush layer.

The stock layer (layer 3) shall be on top/above of the brushed layer (layer 2), then press ctrl + alt + g to make it a clip mask.
