First one has bad blending, bad contrast, no depth, no lighting, and bad text.
Second one has bad blending, better contrast, better depth, bad lighting, and better text.
Second ones better.

Second one is better. Bad text though. Also, i'd sharped inside the render more, and outside the c4d's less, but that's my opinion.
Decent tag though.

First:
Colors and type aren't too shabby, but everything else is pretty rough. The washed out look isn't really working here, neither are the effects to the left of the stock, they just don't fit.
Second:
I'd drop the layer effects on the text, I generally find they look bad. They can be done well, but it's very dependant on whether it goes with the piece or not. Not liking the blur on his hair, it's too strong. Effects and colors are cool though.

that's why i chose to leave it out. I hardly ever use text on taggs, only if i'm really sure about it
