My name is Dakota, and I will be your designated newbie today. =D

I'm from eastern Ohio; not the most exciting place in the world, but I like it that way. Some of my hobbies include playing video games; RPGs (Such as Skyrim), MMOs (not WoW >:I), Fighting games (like SC, SF), MW3 and other shooters, including some online ones (I'm not a 12 year old rage-quitting squealer although when people say the word 'trash' it ignites the inner fires of my medulla-oblongotta); Magic: The Gathering is probably one of my favorite pass-times; and lastly, reading books.

As far as music goes, I'll listen to almost anything that isn't mainstream pop/hip-hop/whatever-the-heck-it-is. I prefer classical and techno.

Down to business I spose...

I use Photoshop CS4, I've used CS5 as well. I've got some of the basics down on Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Flash. I used Paint.NET for quite a while until I got Photoshop. Not to say that Paint.NET is replaced by PS because it isn't, PDN brings many things to the table that Photoshop doesn't, but I won't get into that.

I can't post any graphics right now, but I may update this thread with some of my work later.

Eventually I want to become a graphics and web designer.

Welcome to GFXVoid, this is a very friendly place with a great group of Artists and GFX Artists. We have tutorials and don't mind helping you out with anything you need if you are stuck, I would suggest asking for help outside of the chatbox since people usually use it to mess around and don't take much seriously there.

As for Classical music, Bach and Beethoven's albums are on my top-priority list for when I design so I enjoy it as well :], quite a bit. I also listen to Electronic music and other sorts of musics ranging from Meditation scripts and fine tuned Endorphin release sounds to Dubstep, Hip Hop, Rap, Raggaeton, Club, Country, Techno, Rock, Modern Rock, and others (depends on the artist and/or band) so great if you ever need some song suggestions feel free to ask!

When it comes to art and design, I suggest never trying to rush, take it slow and enjoy the ride because it is all part of it :].
