Default more forensic science but this time art... :3

So on my own time I've started this art project. I'm taking a skull and on one half I'm drawing the skull, from a picture. On the other half I'm going to use tissue depth charts to figure out what the face that goes with the skull would look like. Tissue depth charts are just that -- a list of average tissue depths for the different parts of the face, like between the eyes, the frontal cheek bone area, the chin... etc. At the moment I know the skull belonged to a Caucasoid (white) person, though I'm unsure of the sex. I'm pretty sure it's female, but I need to find a definitive answer. If I can't find an answer I'll assume it's female and work from there.

So far I've got the skull half, next i'll be working on the fleshy part. Before I start that, I want to hear some criticism about the skull. I want to make sure I'm completely done with the skull before I start working on the face.

Well tbh i have no idea about art. . .or forensic science, however i do agree that its prob a female cause of the cheek bones, and it looks good imo, sounds like a cool idea cant wait for the finished product

    Looks lovely.

Grainy enough to look like actual skull fragment texture and the cracks are wonderfully done. The shading seems smooth and even, in the correct spots according to the brightened up areas. Only thing I would suggest is watch out for the smoothness of the skull, usually skulls are a bit more rough around the edges but you know that.

    Good stuff

you're right, one of the ways to find sex is by looking at the width of the cheekbones. you can also look at the jaw shape, the brow line, and the overall smoothness of the skull. guys skulls have more muscle attachment, where the muscle is literally attached to the skull, which makes the skull bumpy and grainy. women, on the other hand, have little muscle attachment so the skulls are overall smoother
