Anyone seen Prometheus yet?
Just wondering if anyone here has seen it and what you thought of it?
Reviews are somewhat decent from what I have read, but then again I also read that it really didn't deliver in the sense of answering questions such as where the Xenomorphs originated from and who the Space Jockeys actually are.
I also don't think any of the movies will ever come close to the original Alien movie now, sadly. Box office as of the last update is 50 million. Budget was 120 to 130 million.
Thanks.
Prick.

I was planning on going to watch it, but we ditched the idea and went to The Dictator instead .......if you've watched it, let us know...if it's worth going to see it.

No, at this point I haven't seen it yet myself. I may go, or just wait it out. I'm unsure.
Thanks.

Spoilers!!!!
From what I can gather, the movie is a non-direct prequel to Alien. By that, I mean that it has nothing to do with Alien in association with the story, but it has alot to do with the history/lore. There's no actual direct link between this planet and the planet in the original movie.
Starting off with the Black Sludge, many of people have the impression that it's a somewhat fire like object. In the same way that fire can be used to create (eg: to pop pine cones, cook, light, etc) it is also able to destroy. At the beginning of the movie it was used by the Space Jockey to sacrifice his life and create a whole new species, us, however at the end of the movie we also learnt that it can destroy life and take over a host.
The black sludge also has the ability to modify the DNA of it's victim, and I'm wondering if someone has to be of a pure form to do that. We should have noticed the grubs in the caves, and then later on the snake creatures appeared, so was that caused by the grubs getting into contact with the toxin.
The confusing part is how the "Alien" is created. The human comes into contact with the ooze, that has sex with the girl, that gives birth to the face hugger, that then impregnates the Jockey, that then gives birth to the "Alien". Now Aliens are only created by face huggers, so naturally they have to come in somewhere in the story and the sperm of the infected person entering a clean body seems to be a somewhat logical explanation (Or illogical cause does that mean the face hugger is a mutated sperm?). This face hugger that impregnates the Jockey will naturally create a different Alien to what we all know. Since the Jocky is a different species and size, the creature is going to be different to what we all know, and maybe even bigger. The big question is whether the "Alien" is fully grown, or whether it's a Chest Burster, thus meaning it could grow even bigger!
The differences between the Face Huggers and Aliens in the original and current movie could be explained if Face Huggers in the original were created by Jockeys, and then impregnate Humans, and the reverse in Prometheus. Same method but different recipes.
That's all I have time for at the moment, but I think there are alot of questions opening up about this movie and many that won't be answered til a sequel.
