I really do. I honestly and really do hate the fuckers with a passion. Once again, being the nice guy I am, I decided to help a guy out with a place to stay, and I have done this before, so one would think I would have learned my lesson. But no, not me, the nice guy I am.

I took this guy in on the 26th of last month. Two days ago, after I, yes I, spent the better part of 2 weeks lying through my teeth to the ministry so he got a damn check, he actually gave me $350 fucking dollars. What a fucking miracle that was. Oh and by the way, I went to the fucking welfare office with him, and to the fucking money mart, without letting him out of my site.

That night, we went to to the pub. Can you believe I had to buy my own fucking beer and pay for the games of pool? Oh yeah. After I covered his ass for 2 fucking weeks and thinks it funny to drink my last fucking beer in my fridge. No one drinks my last fucking beer, period.

Now, here we are two days later after he got his check, guess what? He's broke, that's what. Not a pot to piss in for another 4 weeks. Too boot, I went to this place here called Labour Ready. You show up at 7 am, sign in, and you might get lucky and make 50 bucks digging ditches, and got him an application form to fill out. I even gave the guy a fucking pen and 5 bucks for the damn bus to get there.The fucking application form is still sitting on the coffee table and he isn't ever going to drink my last beer again.

It's not so much the welfare, but the certain types of people on welfare, some are just degenerate pieces of crap, ha. Find better friends/acquaintances. Ones more responsible and with their priorities straight, not ones that blow all their money on blow... haha

Exact. Same. Shit, minus the beer and Welfare. He just does nothing and has been for the past 3 months.. heh. Welfare would actually be a step up.

There's heaps of people that earn government funding and unfortunately a few give a bad rep for the rest.

For instance I'm mates with one guy that doesn't work and plays games all the time. You might think off the top of the bat that he's a slacker, but it's only when you find out that he has a blood cancer and it's come back for the second time that you realise why he's on government funding. Chemo every few weeks and hospital checkups on a regular basis. It pretty much turns into the situation where your job is just trying to live.

But in saying that I do know someone else that was a bum and just couldn't be bothered to even try and find a job, even if he's got a Uni quallification.

It probably comes down to how some people can't be bothered to set themselves life goals. To own a home, a car, afford a wedding, a trip overseas, etc. They often just look at the weekend and how they can spend their weekly cheque. Hell, even some people on regular jobs just blow a few hundred every weekend on alcohol and other crap that they don't need.

Eat, work, shit, sleep, drink.

Heck I were one of those guys who just gets paid to do nothing for two years but at least I tried to find a job, and at last even the "job finders department" (don't know what's it's called in English) found a job for me.

There are people on there that are genuine, people that simply need it to keep food in their bellies if they have some horrid medical condition not allowing them to work. However they are in a very small minority! Most people who are on it are so only because they're too fucking lazy to get a job and they see it as free money. I have a family living down the road that has 12 kids (12!) and constantly pumping out more, they get a free house, lots of money and I even heard they got paid to go on holiday once.
At the same time you can't really blame them, there isn't anything stopping them going on it apart from dignity (not like they have much of that), the amount of checks there are to determine whether the person can or can't work is laughable.

IT'S WELFARE DAY UP HERE IN IGLOO LAND!

And the room mate got a check for 590 dollars. He gave me 360 dollars for rent. Yes, rent. Not room and board. In other words he gave me shit all for grocery money. Shit all. He bought one 15 pack of beer, one pack of cigarettes and tossed in 20 bucks for take out.. then he stole my fucking cell (which I did retrieve), and called the fucking crack dealer.
