Looking for harsh critique

First one, I like what you was aiming for. A blinding light in the forest with an angel in the way. Pretty cool stuff. I'd say brighten up the ambience up more and the wings/body according to how strong the source is. Remember that the body is a solid piece of mass so there would be a huge shadow on the left side of the picture (his right side) instead of it continuing from his arm, also there would be some reflection light on his body from the brightness of the floor (bounce light).

The red/black spots on the character seem uh, they look really cartoony. I would suggest (but of course it's your picture, you don't have to) testing out opacity settings on multiply. Try setting up 2 multiply layers with different levels of red at a high RES and it can look pretty realistic...but judging from the size of his hands and brightness of the entire picture the blood/liquid wouldn't show.

The other one just fucking sucks and you should feel bad.
