Default Hello I feel like an idiot but, what is a thread?

Hello, Im posting this cause i have to so I will pose a question or two but I can probably just google search it. What is a thread? as compared to message or, any of the other types of input ? I've never belonged to a site like this where you chat with threads and posts
    Thanks,
    Wijopo

Default so a thread is just a message or its . . .

something more like the subject of a message or question so people can search based on thread names?

A thread is a discussion on a message board. This is a thread created by you on this message board.

    Thanks.

I actually had this problem when I started using forums as well so I'll explain as best as I can.

A forum is where you go to create threads. Some websites are made for the sole purpose of being a forum (where threads are created), now, threads are basically your own "post" but with a title which is often called "topic". In that thread people can reply, ask and post to your topic.

So again, what you do is you go into the forum section of a website. You create your very own thread in the correct section and you give your thread a topic.

    Forum>Thread>Topic>Post

    Hope this helps

    I think this is WP...?

WP: A thread is like a post on facebook. Then you get a bunch of your friends commenting on your post. Pretty much the same thing, except far more organized, so you can avoid all the shitty memes your mom has been sharing lately.

And the people here arent your friends. Well, except Distello...but he is too friendly to everyone.

Most threads are useful and or informative too, unless Distello is involved in any way, shape or form. If that's the case, don't waste your time.

    Thanks.
