Hi folks...

Looks like a great set of forums here.

Since I got back into designing and graphic arts as an almost primary focus, I've been looking for something just like this. DA is great for gallery and such, but it's huge, everyone here probably knows that by now.

Anway...a little about me:

I'm 34, live in Durham NC, and I'm a happily married guy!

I've been "playing" in photoshop since around '97, and created my first html page prior to the introduction of Mosaic0.8.

Over the years I spent alot of time concentrating on the technical side of things, my primary skill set is that of systems/network engineer, primarily UNIX (Solaris/BSD/Linux).

My development skills got requested not too long ago when a musician friend of mine needed a website...since then, 5 or so more musicians, a few support companies and such, I'm now "working in the entertainment industry". It's a good life, though the pay sucks, as most of the musicians I work with are more on the "music/art" side of the picture, and don't make alot of money...but, backstage/post parties/etc etc are definatly worth the lack of big $$$.

Again, thanks for having a great forum up...will be nice to get some peer review on my stuff, and contribute back a couple of things...I've even got a tutorial or two that are "unlike" most of the others out there...will have to work on whipping them up maybe soon when I get the chance...

Oh...I can be longwinded sometimes...lol

Sounds great man, you're job seems pretty cool. I personally own several sites, and ideally i'd like to make a sufficent income off my sites (and be self employed) to afford everything I enjoy. I currently do allright, but I couldnt support a family or anything like that.
