hey.. i just got a new mp3 playa, and it came with a new media, player, which is alot easier and faster to put music onto it, (its a creative micro) and i was wondering, anyone know where the files are stored when you rip music from a CD in windows media player, cause when i isntalled it asked if you want to trasnfer, but i just put a new cd on (pink floyd; ehoes) and i duno howto get it on, other than ripping it again (which is confusing on my new thing)
hope someone can understadn that and help

Probably in a few differnt places
Windows xp, I'd go to my doucuments and check in the My Music Folder
depeanding on where it is, i'd check your My Downloads folder, mines in c:/ My downloads
or when you rip it, it may ask you to specify where you want to place it, if you didnt, then check the defaul location

with wmp it just rips and loads them into wmp i have no idea where they go
ill check my music, altho im sure it didnt go there
they did go there.. but its trange, not all of my music is there

Heh glad I could help
I have no idea why not all of it is there though? Maybe when you uploaded it to your Mp3 player it removed it from your computer?

If your using Microsoft Media Player to rip your cd's, then the default is wma format, but you can go into the optoins and change it to mp3 (which is what i have done). In the same place is the location of where they are saved to, as stated above, My Music is the default location.
If you go to My Documents from the menu, you should have a sub folder called My Music. It should all be in there, otherwise check the options to see where it rips them to.
btw, I would recommend ripping as mp3's as its the universal format, while wma is a proprietry format from MS. So a player you buy in the future may not be able to read the music, iPod's can't play wma files.

Ipod's suck. I like wma, it can have really good quality, even better then mp3. Tho mp3 is universal, can be played on anything. MAke sure your player can use WMA's. Usally it says it's windows play for sure, if it plays WMA.
-
Doesn't going from WMA to Mp3 reduce quality though? I can't personally tell any difference in music "qualities" persay.
I wouldn't buy an Ipod if my life depended on it. I'm a zen boy

Yes and no... Changing form format to format can cause lose of quality... but that dosent mean its going to happen.

why don't you search on the web?
