Most Influential Type of Music Currently?

What type of music do you feel is the most influential type of music today.

I personally feel its rap - thats all that's played on MTV nowadays, more people are liking it, more people dress like it. I really do feel its going to start taking over.

I believe that its rap. It seems like everyone enjoys it. it always seems to be playing on TV and radio.

More correctly, I believe it's hip-hop and not rap that holds sway right now. The major support for this is the fact that alot of rock bands are incoporating hip-hop into their sound.

I wouldn't really know... I don't watch MTV, I don't listen to the radio, and the only musical communities I'm a part of are directed solely towards metal.

It doesnt matter if you don't listen to it or watch it - you can tell by seeing what other people listen to and such. You're saying everyone in your entire life only listens to rock? If so -then rock would be the correct choice...
