Brushes

Hi. This is my first post here. I'm having a problem. I'm completely confused as to how to use brushes. I just downloaded some, but I have no idea what to do. Can someone fill me in, please.

In Photoshop, go to the brushes menu (where all the presets brushes show up), and there should be an arrow on the right side. Click that, then "Load Brushes". Chose the brushes you downloaded (they should be .abr files).

there is a detailed explanation of the proper way to do it. Not that anyone was wrong with their explanations, but this is alittle more in depth.
