Ok, I know it sound stupid that "me vs. you guys", but everytime I go to the showcase area, i got the feeling that: "OMG! Look at this guy! How did he made it? I can't make that! Crap..."
Is it because I don't have talent or that I'm unispired? (one thing is for sure: I don't have those cool resources that you guys have)

Talent doesn't play a big role here if you ask me. Just start playing around with different images and tools, try some tutorials and sooner than you think, you'll have some good ideas of your own. Practice, practice, practice! B)
Two words.
Experiment. Creativity.

Hmm - i'd say the biggest thing that people like here is originality , and also creativity yes.
To tell you the truth, I wouldn't say I'm not that talented at graphic design (in comparison to half the members). Most people that come here as noobs - end up much better than me =).
The main thing I do with graphics is create layouts / headers for all the sites I own - and most of them are pretty simple (user friendly atleast)
practice and looking at profesional art work will bring talent.
you just have to have original ideas, as well as know the tricks of the trade :)
p.s. three words practice. practice. practice.

I don't think it really matters how others rate your work unless you plan on doing this for a living. I personally do this just to pass time. I work on my pictures, sigs, layouts, whatever until I think they look right and I like them. They only get posted on forums because i'm an attention whore and want everyone to bask in my glory. (haha, jk again...) The real reason is because there would be absolutely no point to making them if I was just going to delete them after.
i have no kinda talent at all... none, ziltch, zipoo! but i guess im ok at ph....
