What exactly is it? Is it a 3D render or a modification or what? I'm slightly confused.
Im also confused..I dont like the skin texture though..

From HL 1. Why didn't you just reskin the vortigaunt from HL2?
Pretty Dark and it has a really ugly texture.
yeah, not really sure what you've done, and what valve did. looks like a sloppy re-colour done via hue/sat to me for an already low res texture thats outdated.
1) HL will never be outdated it is a classic!
2) Model sucks man. The textures are fag matic

It's got potential, needs some work. first, brighter, and bolder features. And then work on the minute shadings etc. And if it doesn't work , a simple one will do. But the colours are fine, maybe yellow instead of blue ( glossy yellow ) would fit better. And a different coloured background, black is too harsh.
