I think it looks alright, let me know what you think.
EDIT: I just realized I fucked up on the text really bad, wrong color. And the brushing on the girl goes over a little on the left side. And some of the color balance is off. Wow I suck right now. I'll fix it soon. Sorry.

I realllllllllllllllly like the original. Since I liked the original so much, chaning it imo makes it a bit worse. The munip was good. Just I liked the original alot.

It's not too bad of a manipulation. I like the manipulations done around the shoulder and the chest area. They seem pretty bloody. The trees in the back are a bit too bright. Maybe you can try lowering the saturation more so that it gives more of a haunting feeling, but I guess you can leave it how you like it. Good job.

BFG: I know what you mean. I really liked the original too, and that's why I wanted to do something with it. I guess you're right that it kind of ruined it, but I just wanted to see what I could do.
Penguin: I tried lowering the saturation when I was working on it, but when I did it made the shadows on the tree turn a light green color, and I wasn't exactly sure why, so I left it how it was.
rchocobo: I didn't do much manipulating because I didn't think there really needed to be much done to it, I wanted to see if I could kind of grasp the original picture before it was desaturated, without knowing what it actually looked like.
Thanks for the feedback guys.

it's nice, but although red and green are nice, i don't like the tones here, also the brushng seems a little over done but still nice idea :)

Thanks deadloader, I kind of felt the same way with the brushing, but I left it how it was. I think I'm gonna redo this one from scratch.

Try to work with different shades when you color it. Leaves are often different tones as is wood :)
